Project #6 Data Portrait

Description/Instruction
This data portrait is about the relationshihp between the time spent on my assignments and the one on my sleep. Those two things take the most portion of my life and I found that those two routines are closely related. I collected data of my routine for one week and now show the hours in bar graphs based on seven days. Since there are two horizontal bar graphs from both sides, you can compare my assigment hours and sleep hours. This shows my devotion for the aschool assignments and at the same time my lack of sleep. Once the mouse is clicked, you will see the hilarious message "I wnat to sleep"
Design Process
After collecting data, I decided to select assinments and sleep data which showed clear contrast. I drew a rough draft using Adobe Illustrator and added design elements such as colors, expressions and interaction device. I took the advantage of 'array'for bar graphs and I also used 'array in array' for the texts that appear when the mouse hovers over the bars. In this way, I could make my coding shorter and efficient.
Reflection
I found a few interesting things about my routine life. First, when there are many assignments, I usuall sleep for less hours, and vice verca. Second, I am busier doing my homework in the weekend than in weekdays. Third, I am experiencing a lack of sleep. The Wednesday was the only day when the sleep hours exceeded the assignments hours. From this data visualization, people may assume that I could take a break during the gap hours. But that is not true. One more important data is missing here: classes. The gap between both bar graphs shows that I have classes on that day. Thus on Thursday, that is day 4, I have a short class and my day is taken up with rather longer assignments.
