Description

In this project I tried to express the dynamics and harmony of energy. I got strongly inspired by Korean flag and Korean traditional patterns. The red and blue color arcs which stand for two complimentary forces of Yang and Yi. These arcs are overlayed on the grayscale geometric shapes, showing the contrast in color and shapes and causing the visual distorion for the backgraound checkered pattern. Still all of them are rotationg in the same speed and rythm in harmony and constantly make various shapes when overlapped.

Design Process

I first made two arcs of red abd blue and rotated them by using loop fuction. Then I made two sets of multiple rectangles also by using the loop fuction and made them rotate in opposite directions so that they can generate various shapes when overlayed. For the background checkered pattern, I used the loop fuction along with if-else statements. Lastly, I placed the text in the middle and set it to be seen when the mouse button is pressed for a simple interaction.

Reflection

It was hard to combine the inspiration patterns into one sketch. I used the loop fuction many times to do the repeating work and it worked well.The fuction was so useful because it can simply generate many shapes.I had a hard time figuring out the optimized size and speed. I think overall the inspiration/ reference images are reflected in the work and dynamics and harmony of energy is well preseneted.
